The closing of a deal is a critical juncture in the Venture Capital - founder relationship, right?


It is also where a lot of founders get antsy, ego driven and impatient, (and at times it's just plain old scared that it's not gonna happen), which can often times kill the whole thing fast! 

This is gonna be a loooong a** relationship and if it's a nightmare at the beginning, there is a great chance that it will only go down from there...


Founders must understand that VCs are not just gatekeepers of capital, but operate on a larger ecosystem. Delays and thorough processes are part of ensuring that the investment is sound and beneficial for both parties. VCs also have people to answer to and wait on....




By exercising patience and maintaining open lines of communication, founders can help foster a relationship built on mutual respect and trust, setting the stage for future success.
